The scent clings to my skin of a night I might’ve dreamed. It’s the sweetest memory, I just don’t know what it means. And everything I understood is now unraveling, exposing every weakness and ripping at the seams. Everything is falling now. The skyline is closing in. How do I breathe with this over me? Hush now, don’t say that this will mean nothing. How can clever poetry or a catchy turn of phrase fill this speechless void, this luminescent daze? And I just can’t resist, I’m a moth to your flame. This inkwell’s run empty, and you are to blame. Morning is almost here, bringing close all my fears. But no matter what you choose, just now I’d choose you. “You Know What You Did” © 2012 TM87

Dear Alex 03:17
You won’t remember the first time we met. I was 15, scrawny, just some brace-faced kid, and you - you were so mysterious. I was blown away, and I’ve never been the same since. It was the first time I saw your band, that last summer before you asked Maria to count you in. Played your hearts out for a tiny crowd, then you said “If you wanna be heard, girl you better be loud.” So pretty boy on the stage, go on and sing me a song. Steal my heart, keep me dancing all night long, cuz this rush is so sweet. Please stop these clocks tonight. You’re taking over the room while I’m down here on the floor. Flash me a smile I’ll return until my cheeks are sore. You know you’re everything to us tonight. So strange to think you were just a kid then, now some big shot, selling out arenas with famous friends… but I’ll always see the way I did then. Years later, though so much has changed, you still wear that half smile that drives those teenage hearts insane. It takes me back to that day and it’s like I’m 15. You’re just a boy on the stage, but you’re singing my song. You’ve got my heart and it feels so right that it must be wrong. Nothing in the world will stop these clocks tonight. Later on in my room, I’ll think of you from my floor, and write about how you made me dream of something more. You know you’re everything to me tonight. “Dear Alex” © 2012 TM87

“Get your head on straight,” they said. “You’re never gonna make it. This time you’re only poised to fall apart, so why try? You’re losing it now.” Step up, you know that this could be everything that you wanted so it’s time to go. How does it taste, seeing me up high? You swore I’d never get here. Place your bets, but I’m gonna stay here. One dreamer’s cry, the shout heard ‘round the world. Each note is all that matters. Tonight, we know what matters. Always so afraid, running scared from your own damn shadow. Always counting on a wish to come true - get a grip now. Come on before your moment’s gone, realize the worst ain’t over yet… but the best is still to come. “Give My Regards To St. Peter (Or Whoever Has His Job In Hell)” © 2012 TM87

Go on, buy us a drink while you tell your tale. Shed some tears, tell me all about your betrayal that you kept quiet till the moment was right. Don’t be shy, make sure I’m haunted by this night. Come now, give me your reasons. Blame me for everything. I won’t be listening. Twist the story, don’t hold back now. Make me the sinner who betrayed the saint. Tell me once, tell me twice, this is all my fault. How your lying and scheming are just a result of the fact that I dared to pursue my dreams - I’m a terrible person or so it would seem. Tell me how I will pay for the things I lack, how it’s my hand wrapped around the knife in my back. Can’t you see, honey? There’s nothing left to mend. Sorry “bestie” but I just don’t care how this ends. Come now, give me your reasons. Blame me for everything. I’m still not listening. Spew your poison, don’t hold back now. I’ll be the sinner who exposed the saint. Go ahead, spin your web of deceit. Play your games, tell our old friends how you were the one I abused. I won’t be here when you self-destruct. Come now, these are my reasons. Are you there listening? I know you’re listening. You can curse me. I’m still smiling. You’re just a footnote in this story. One last thing before I nail your coffin shut - if you think you still matter, the joke’s on you. “Three Cheers For Nine Years” © 2012 TM87

Lullaby 05:11
Yes I know that it’s too late, and love you know I’ll never say it. Lonely hearts all have their secrets, and yes I still miss what could’ve been. As life moves, it takes us places we always swore we’d never go. And as time erases faces, we’ll forget all we know. So just promise me one thing - one last played out, hollow oath - and whisper one last perfect melody into my dreams before you go. And yes, I know that it’s too late, and Love, you know I’ll never say it. So I’ll pour my heart out in a verse, hide it away so you can’t break it. And I wonder if you wonder, if we could’ve got this right. Lonely hearts all have their secrets, and yes. I still miss what could’ve been tonight. Every night’s a little longer as I’m dreaming of those eyes - still, every day my heart beats stronger. We’re all learning to survive. And though it seems that all our luck’s run out, we’ve played our final hand… you’ll always have a place that’s here with me, hidden away beneath life’s plans. And some nights might be harder, so just rest your tired eyes. Still every tear makes us stronger, and we both know we’ll survive. And though our lullaby is scored and done, our final note’s at hand - all these memories might seem cruel today, but they’ll resolve in the end. “Lullaby” © 2012 TM87
